Strolled along the Seaton Sea front and came to the hideaway at the end of the concrete walkway at the end of the beach huts. Its nestled in a cleft in the cliff with stairs besides the cafe that lead to the top of the cliffs. You can sit inside or out beside the railings looking out onto the beach. Friendly service from the team when we visited, nice small cooked meals, cakes and drinks were the offering when we popped down, good selection and good quality based on what we had. We had a cake and coffee/tea and sat outside. Its a lovelyty location to watch the sea and the beach. If its cold the inside of the cafe is available

We came to see a live performance, it was great, but a quiet night, due to the weather, so finding this place lost a point, it isn't called the hideaway for nothing. The owners seem lovely and it's nice enough to relax and enjoy the sea view!

Great cafe in an excellent location at the end of the beach, serving well sourced and carefully cooked local food to locals and visitors in the know. We visited twice, once for a great breakfast, we had two gluten free with us and we all had a brilliant and filling breakfast and...
the Hideaway is open some weekend evenings. We only found out by chance. Different evening menu, best to book. Our grown up kids really rated the burgers, properly cooked and time taken to serve a proper burger. The home made fish cakes were excellent, as were the desserts.
Strongly recommended

Whenever I write a review, I try to include something productive advice to improve (in my mind), any future visits. However I just can't with this lovely place. Everything was perfect.
I just wanted to have a break during my now regular early morning walks on Saturday mornings.
Normally exploring my home county of Dorset, I decided to visit this beautiful seaside town that I have always had fond memories of.
I am also now finding this walks are becoming an excuse to have a 'Full English Breakfast', after having 'healthy' meals during the week.
After checking out ratings on Google, I planned my day to include nourishment at this establishment.
It was clean and tidy. The welcome was warm and friendly. Placing my order made easy with Apple Pay.
The table was clean and tidy.
The cappuccino was just right. The breakfast arrived and tasted so delicious. The bacon and sausages were so very tasty. Everything was.
I left with a smile.
I will definitely be coming back here again.
Thank you to all of you there.

A lovely spot. Outdoor seating overlooking the sea, and cosy (but also somehow quite well spaced out) seats indoors when the weather turns. Friendly staff. So far we've only tried the coffee and cakes, which have been consistently delicious - but the food menu looked good and we're in Seaton for a week so will definitely be returning.
Oh... And it's dog friendly. Whilst we don't have a dog, there have been well behaved dogs on there on both occasions we visited. Made the whole place feel more friendly.

Breakfast
The breakfast here was delicous, full of flavour and cooked well.
Lunch
I ordered the jewelled cous cous salad. It was a little dry but the other items in the salad did make up for that. One of the best potato salads I've ever had accompanied the dish, flavourful, moist and the potatoes were so delicate
Atmosphere
We sat both inside and outside respective of our meals, the atmosphere inside is claiming and relaxed, cute decor sets the tone. Outside is just as good with a view of the sea from the benches placed just outside

I have been here now five or six times over the last couple of weeks and each time (whatever I have had, whatever size of party, take away or eat in) it was been a consistent quality. Good quality coffee, superb cakes, tasty food, and a great location. Wonderful place to get take away from and enjoy at their tables or toddling off somewhere else to eat. Inside is cool, with plenty of space for a pushchair, and accommodates dogs too which means if it is too cold or too hot, inside isn't off-limits which is really important. Clean establishment, quick service on the days I've gone Enjoyed each visit here with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. A quality establishment to add to the beach of Seaton, exactly what that end needs! Could be perceived as pricey, but quality is where it counts and I have not been disappointed! Plus, with views like these, you could be abroad! And it's right on my doorstep! Brilliant 🌟

A tad disappointing. Enjoying a morning stroll by the sea and fancied a coffee only to be informed ‘we don’t open until 10.00.’ So much for an early morning coffee! 10.00 - sun is nearing the yard arm! Several people sitting at tables awaiting service (confusing ‘be seated’ signs around which really were confusing suggesting table service which was of course not in evidence because despite the appearance of being open was actually closed. How disappointing. Coffee was okay as was the service.
